Description

Notice of availability of a prospectus for the award of a concession contract authorizing the sale of retail merchandise in two buildings within Colonial National Historical Park, Yorktown, Virginia, for a period of ten years. Retail operations are conducted within the Somerwell House and the Medical Shop for 12 months a year. All equipment and furnishings needed to operate shall be provided by the concessioner. An offeror shall submit a single offer on both buildings. The approximate number of visitors to the Yorktown visitor Center during the summer was 124,000. Annual gross receipts for 1999 were $327,988. The Director, pursuant to 36 CFR, Part 51 has determined that this is a qualified concession contract. This new concessions contract is a qualified concession contract based on the fact that the business is estimated to result in annual gross receipts of less than $500,000 in the first 12 months of its term. A preferred offeror for this contract exists, however, all interested parties may apply and all responsive proposals will be concidered. Offers are due May 18, 2001.
