Description
Operation of the Flint Genesee Job Corps Center, Request for Proposal(RFP) for the continued operation of the Flint Genesee Job Corps Center, at 2400 North Saginaw Street, Flint, Michigan 48505 will be available approximately Thrusday, April 5, 2001 on the World Wide Web at http://www.wdsc.org/jobcorps/schedule.html. It is anticipated that the resultant contract will cover the period January 1, 2002 through December 31, 2003 plus three Government unilateral options of one year each. The approximate average center capacity for Flint Genesee JCC will be 330 students (132 residential males, 162 residential females, 10 non-residential males and 26 non-residential females). Job Corps is a residential training program for economically disadvantaged youth, between the ages of 16-24. In addition, the Flint Genesee JCC has a separate single parent dormitory for 36 single parents, included in above total center capacity, and a child development center with a capacity for 60 children. Of the 36 non-residential students, 18 may be single parents and the children are included in the total capacity designated for the child development center. The contractor shall provide academic and vocational training; operate a counseling and residential living program and provide the following support services: Health Services Processing of Student Records, Discipline System, Clothing Issue, Mail Services and Legal Services. The contractor will also provide overall center management, procurement and property management, facility operations and maintenance, security and safety services, community relations and public information. All activities will be in compliance with applicable DOL/Job Corps regulations, policies and handbooks. A walk-through inspection of the Flint Genesee JCC facility, followed immediately by a Pre-Proposal Conference will be convened promptly at 10:00 A.M. local time on Thursday, April 12, 2001 at the Flint Genesee Job Corps Center (see address above). Upon entering the facility, offerors must stop at the front desk where they will be given directions for the conference. We recommend you download the RFP from our website prior to attending the Pre-Proposal Conference and bring the RFP with you to the conference. All questions prior to the Pre-Proposal Conference should be submitted in writing. Proposals in response to this RFP will be due no later than 12:00 P.M. NOON, local time (Central Time) on Tuesday, June 5, 2001, at the following address: U.S. Department of Labor, Office of Job Corps, Room 676, 230 South Dearborn Street, Chicago, Illinois 60604. All responsible sources may submit a proposal which shall be considered by the Agency.
