Description

The Chattahoochee-Oconee National Forest is seeking a firm to prepare two corridor management plans, one for the Ridge and Valley Scenic Byway and one for the Russell Brasstown National Scenic Byway in the mountains of north Georgia. This project includes the development and implementation of each corridor management plan to maintain the scenic, historical, recreational, cultural, natural, and archeological characteristics of a byway corridor while providing for accommodation of increased tourism and development of related amenities, 23 U.S.C. 162(c)(2). The plan must incorporate the 14 components of corridor management planning which are included in the Federal Highway Administration's interim policy for the National Scenic Byways Program published in Federal Register on May 15, 1995. Performance time for this project is 180 days. This is a TEA-21 project funded through the state of Georgia. Firms must be pre-qualified with Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT). There is no solicitation package to request; firms desiring consideration should submit Standard Forms 254 and 255 by April 20, 2001. Use SF-255 form Block 10 (extra sheets may be used) to provide specific information on firm's experience in corridor management planning, particularly in the North Georgia area, an outline of the proposed approach, and schedule for accomplishing this work.
