Description

The Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences (USUHS), intends to award on a sole source basis a contract to the Henry M. Jackson Foundation for the Advancement of Miltary Medicine (HMJF) to provide personnel, supplies, equipment, and all services necessary to support a continuing effort for the development of the National Simulation Center's Virtual Reality Operating Room. The anticipated contract shall be on a cost reimbursable basis with no fee. This contract is being awarded as a follow-on research project from the USU to the HMJF for initial research in this arena. This contract is in compliance with Public Law 92-426, entitled "Uniformed Services Health Professions Revitalization Act of 1972" and 10 U.S.C. 178 and 2213(j)(1)(A), which authorizes USU to award contracts on a sole source basis to the HMJF. The authority for this award permitting other than full and open competition is found at 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(5), "Authorized or Required by Statue." See Note 22.
