PROJECT TITLE AND LOCATION: Prospect Island Restoration Project. Phase 1, and Phase 2 Construction, Solano County, CA. THIS PROPOSED CONTRACT IS SET-ASIDE for HUBZONE Small Business in the NORTHERN CALIFORNIA area only. Offers from other than HUBZONE business concerns will not be considered. SEE NOTE 27 (See Commerce Business Daily, Monday edition) JOB DESCRIPTION: This project is a 1,200 acre habitat restoration project located in the Delta area of Solano County, CA. The project will have a two phase and two year construction schedule to grade and excavate the interior project area for islands, berms, and channels. Construction will be completed with the installation of one breach and one culverted opening of the existing Miner Slough levee to allow tidal waters into the project interior. The project consists of formerly farmed land and has diverse emergent type vegetation with a high water table and clayey-peat type soils which will require dewatering and possible consideration of use of special LGP equipment, procedures, and construction methods. Site work shall include: dewatering, clearing and grubbing, stockpiling of vegetation material, erosion control, earthwork, grading, breaching of existing levee, rock revetment and geotextile work, culvert installation , etc. NAICS CODE: This procurement will be conducted under NAICS CODE: 234990. The size standard for this NAICS CODE is $27,500,000.00. Estimated cost is between $1,000,000.00 and $5,000,000.00. Plans and specifications can only be ordered electronically by accessing Internet address: http://ebs.spk.usace.army.mil/ Please complete the requested information to avoid a delay in your order. Orders received beyond the CUT OFF DATE of 04/16/01 Will not be honored. Plans and specifications will be mailed out on or about 04/23/01. Because a limited number of sets will be reproduced, copies are limited to one set per firm.
