Description
USAID/El Salvador will be issuing a Request for Proposals (RFP) No. 519-01-P-001 to contract for procurement service agent to the various USAID missions in the Latin America region. The anticipated release date of the RFP will be on or about March 29, 2001. The mission anticipates awarding more than one contract. The contractor will be responsible for the acquisition of commodities to the various strategic objectives and Special Objectives, including operating expenses, of the USAID missions, for delivery F.O.B. destination to the various host country entities and/or delivery points specified in each delivery order. The Contractor will be responsible for the entire procurement process, up to the FOB destination point. The Contractor must have the capability and the necessary skilled personnel to conduct procurement services. The contractor must be able to review and analyze technical specifications in order to provide recommendations and/or advise the various missions, regarding anticipated problems and to ensure that the specifications are not restrictive and will allow for free competition to the maximum extent practical. Therefore, the contractor must possess an extensive experience in the area of procurement. The types of commodities which may be acquired by the Contractor are of a variety, including but not limited to the following types: medical and laboratory equipment, communication equipment, vehicles, electric wire, power and distribution equipment for electrification programs, etc. The preferred method of distribution of USAID procurement information is via the Internet or by request of a solicitation on a 3.5" floppy disk (Microsoft 97 format). On the following screen, select Download Available USAID Solicitations" here you will see a list of all new solicitations. Receipt of this RFP through INTERNET must be confirmed by written notification to the contact person noted above.
