Description

The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) intends to negotiate on a sole source basis with the International Trade Center of Washington, DC for rental space for the NIST Electronic Book Conference on November 5-7, 2001. The Contractor shall provide meeting space, food service and exhibit space on Monday, November 5, 2001 through Wednesday, November 7, 2001. A sole source procurement is being sought with the International Trade Center because of the size and location required for the event on the dates desired. The International Trade Center is the only facilities meeting these requirements. This award will be made using simplified acquisition procedures under the test program for certain commercial items. FAR clauses and provisions referenced in this announcement may be downloaded from http://www.arnet.gov/far. The proposed requirement is for supplies and services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one responsible source under authority of FAR 13.106-1(b), Soliciting From a Single Source. The Government anticipates the award of a firm-fixed price purchase order on or about March 30, 2001. This notice of intent is not a request for quotations. A Request for Quotation (RFQ) is not available.
