- Description
- The United States Postal Service, Purchasing and Materials Department is seeking a supplier to assess the current organizational structure and make recommendations for possible reorganization/restructure. The Purchasing Materials (P&M) organization is an important enabling organization within the United States Postal Service (USPS). An effective organization structure is essential to implementing supply chain management, increase organizational effectivess in managing supply chains and integrating supply chain management into USPS business processes. This will require balancing five areas: personnel capabilities; work processes; information systems; supplier abilities and customer requirements. Within 120 days, the supplier shall present recommendations about a new organization structure for P&M, accompanied by an implementation plan and business case. The business case shall consist of an objective, alternatives considered, recommendation, expected costs, likely benefits and cost versus benefits stream over time. The recommendations will reference best practices used by companies with successful supply chain activities.
