Description

Description of Work: Contract consists of maintenance dredging of Marcus Hook, Cherry Island, Deepwater Point, and New Castle Ranges of the Delaware River channel from stations 117+000 to 237+000. Dredging will be performed to a depth of 35' to 43' plus 1' allowable over depth limited by a vertical plane through the required depth contour. Dredging will be required to a distance of 25' outside the channel limits. The following disposal areas and any existing Government shore pipelines at these areas will be available for this work: Pedricktown South, National Park and Killcohook Areas #1 and #2. This contract will include four options. Options 1, 2 & 3 dredging will be performed to a depth of 45' to 47' plus 1' required over depth and ' allowable over depth. Option 4 dredging will be performed to a depth of 36' plus 1' allowable over depth. Solicitation documents will be furnished on CD-ROM only on or about April 3, 2001; hard copies will not be available. Contractors may view and/or download this solicitation and all amendments from the Internet at the following address: at http://144.3.144.215 on or after issue date of the solicitation; however the official media of distribution for this solicitation is the CD-ROM". One copy of the CD-ROM will be furnished to each bidder at no charge. Requests for a CD-ROM shall be made by registering on the Internet or submitting a request in writing to the attention of Michelle Bertoline. Requests may also be submitted by fax to 215 656-6780 or 215 656-6798. All requests must include a physical street address, telephone number, fax number, point of contact, Federal Tax Identification Number and business size. If any information changes during the advertisement period, contractors shall submit changes to Charlene Jones by fax at (215) 656-6780 -- please reference the solicitation number when submitting changes. Failure to provide any changes in mailing address, phone number or fax number may cause a delay in receiving the solicitation and amendments. Additional copies of the CD-ROM will be provided at a charge of $5.00/CD, made payable to "USACE Finance Center, Millington" to the above address. Your firm's Federal Tax Identification Number must be written on the check, personal checks must be annotated with the individuals Social Security Numbers. Payment will not be refunded and CDs need not be returned. Bidders are responsible for printing paper copies of the solicitation. Bids will be opened on or about May 3, 2001 at 11:00 am. This procurement is unrestricted. The NAICS Code is 234990 with a size standard of $17.0 million. The estimated range of the project is over $10,000,000.00 (Including Options) and bonding is required. Affirmative action to insure equal employment opportunity is applicable to the resulting contract. Liquidated damages will be specified. Award will be made as a whole to one bidder.
