Description

The Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division (NAWCAD) Patuxent River, Maryland has a requirement to evaluate the Vacuum Assisted Resin Transfer Molded (VARTM) process for manufacturing high temperature polymer matrix composites. Areas to be addressed include material characterization, process verification and identification of transition pathways. The baseline material is to be Cytec's 5250-4. This is a notice of intent to request a proposal from and negotiate with Northrop Grumman Corporation, One Hornet Way, El Segundo, CA, 90245-2804, on a sole source basis. Northrop Grumman has been identified as the only responsible source capable of meeting the Government's requirements. It is anticipated that a cost plus fixed fee contract will be awarded for a one year base period of performance with two one-year options for total of three years. See Number Note 22.
