Description

This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in FAR Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; proposals are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. The combined Synopsis/Request for Request Number is AMSTAT-RN-0-1301. The solicitation document and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 90-46, dated 17 Mar 97. The associated standard industrial classification code is 7379, with a size standard of $18.0 million. The requirement is for software needed to continue the research, engineering, and development of the CAVE. This includes: DI-GUY-DEV 1 EA (DI-GUY DEVELOPER'S License for IRIX), DI-GUY-FLOAT 1 EA (Floating option for DI-GUY IRIX), DI-GUY DEV -- 1 EA (DI-GUY Developer's License for PC), PeopleShop- DEV -- 1 EA (PeopleShop Developer's License, DI-GUY-RTU 3 EA [DI-GUY RunTime License (2) IRIX (1) PC], DI-GUY-MAINT 1 EA (Annual software maintenance). This system supports and complements the requirements for the following projects; SimTLC, CAVE VVE and advanced Concepts Rave. No options will be included. Requirements are for TACOM/AMSTA-TR-N, Warren, MI. FOB Destination will apply. Provision at FAR 52.212-1, Instructions to Offerors Commercial, applies to this acquisition. The following factors shall be used to evaluate offers: i) technical capability of the requirement offered to meet the Government requirement and ii) price. Offerors are advised to include a complete copy of the Provision 52.212-3, Offeror Representations and Certifications -- Commercial Items. The clause at FAR 52.212-4, contract Terms and conditions Commercial Items, applies to this acquisition. The clause at FAR 52.212-5, Contract Terms and Conditions Required to Implement Statues or Executive Orders Commercial Items, applies to this acquisition. This acquisition is rated DO4. The US Army Tank Automotive and Armaments Command intends to negotiate solely with Boston Dynamics, Incorporated, 714 Mass Avenue, Cambridge, MA 02139. See numbered Note 22.
