Description

The National Institute of Standards and Technology intends to negotiate on a sole source basis with Princeton Gamma Tech., Inc., C/N 863, Princeton, NJ 08542-0863, under the authority of FAR Part 13.501(a) "Sole Source Acquisitions" for an upgrade for an on-site Prineton Gamma Tech IMIX imaging and x-ray microanalysis workstation. The NAICS code is 333314, and the size standard is 500 employees. PGT is the original equipment manufacturer and is deemed best able to supply a compatible upgrade and integrate the new system with the x-ray detector and associated processing equipment already installed and in use at NIST Gaithersburg. The upgrade includes IMIX workstation, Position Tagged spectrometry, installation and one year warranty. This acquisition is FOB NIST Gaithersburg, MD. The specifications and capabilities are as follows: CLIN 0001 qty one (1) IMIX Workstation to include a)Window NT Workstation, b) 32-bit 667 MHz Clock Speed, c) 128 Mb Main Memory, d) Mass storage of 20Gbyte Disk Drive and 1.44 Mb floppy drive and CD Rom, e) 21 inch color, 1152 x 900 pixel monitor with 11,000 displayed colors from a color palette of 16 million, f) 107-key low profile keyboard; g) 3 button mouse, h) workstation table; CLIN 0001 shall have the following capabilities: able to support electronic mail, multi-tasking, and multi-windowed graphics, ethernet capability which shall include the ethernet card being installed and configured, file format conversion software for exporting files to PC or MAC, transfer of all licensed PGT software from spare IMIX S/N 5041, security passwords for multiple users, includes all current PGT software. CLIN 0002 qty one (1), Position Tagged spectrometry to include: a) image collection performed with complete spectrum stored for each pixel, b) mapping collection time controlled by user in terms of total collection time and/or total counts in window c) simultaneous collection of high-resolution images and low resolution maps, d) map collection (and line profiles) of unlimited elements done simultaneously, display during or after collection of maps for any element, spectra from full scan area, spectra from multiple sub-regions, e) auto-phase ID with display of spectrum from each phase. The acquisition also includes installation and one year warranty.The Government anticipates the award of a firm-fixed price purchase order. The period of performance for this requirement is for 12 months after installation. Written responses to this synopsis shall contain sufficient documentation to establish a bonafide capability to fulfill the requirement. A solicitation is not available. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed order based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
