- Description
- This is a Combined Synopsis/Solicitation for Commercial Items, in accordance with the format in FAR 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. Is set aside for Small Business. The Standard Industrial Code is 2385. The business size is 500. All responsible sources may submit an offer. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation that will be issued. This solicitation will document and incoporated provisions and clauses in Acquisition Circular 97-23 and Defense Acquisition Circular (correction) Closing Date: 22 March 2001: Time 12:00 PM Pacific Time. The Government intends to purchase 49 Fire Retardant Imersion Suits or equal. Sizes to include: 18 ea, medium, 8 ea medium tall, 21 ea large, 2 ea large tall. Suits should be full latex neck seal, wrist seals, one piece Dolman type sleeves, forming the front body and back body to the waist, hook, and pile tab at each wrist. Chest tolerance is 5CM larger than normal. One piece Dolman leg, forming each side up to waist with plain ankles, attached REI Gortex oversock sewn into the legs. One piece file fabric placed on each shoulder (4"x4"). One three division pen pocket on a self fabric carrier at the upper left sleeve. Two inch elastic back waist in an external self fabic channel. Waterpoof zipper entry across shoulder blades (when zipper is clsed slider is on right shoulder); a horizontal, waterproof access zipper fly. One front thigh patch pocket with hook and pile fastening flap on upper left thigh. One lower thigh boxed bellows patch pocket with hook and pile fastening flap on each leg. (placed on the outside seam). All pockets have punched drainage holes, self fabric internal reinforced patches on seat, knee, and elbows. NOMEX III on the face and Modacrylic Flame Retardant Liner, 180 G/M2 for the face and total of 310 G/M2. Flame Resistance shall include no ignition , no hole, and no afterglow. Waterproofing shall be tested for windproof spec less than .02cm3/cm2/second. Water vapor transmission shall be greater than 4500 G/m2/24hrs or equal. Must meet the requirement for American Standard Test Method (ASTM). Contractor must submit samples and literature. Award shall be made to the technically acceptable low quote. DFARS 204.7302, prospective contractors must be Central Contractor Registered (CCR). Commercial procedures as outlined in FAR 12 and in conjunction with FAR 13 are applicable.
