- Description
- The National Institute of Standards and Technology intends to procure on a firm fixed price sole source basis with the University of Texas at Austin, P.O. Box 7726, Austin, TX for measuring the economic value of design/information technologies in non-residential buildings and industrial facilities under the authority of FAR 13.106-1(b) ONLY ONE SOURCE REASONABLY AVAILABLE. The Contractor will write a technical report summarizing and synthesizing research findings from the Phase I investigation already performed by the University, research that: 1) produced a comprehensive set of information that documents the benefits and costs of using design/information technologies; and 2) provided construction industry stakeholders a means to measure and evaluate the economic value of using established, as well as new and innovative design/information technologies. The Contractor possesses both extensive experience in the analysis of capital project effectiveness data, but more importantly has access to such data to support additional analyses and the synthesis of analysis results, having already performed the preliminary study. Award to another source would require duplication of effort in order to obtain the data with which to write the technical report. A formal quotation will be requested from the Contractor and award of this requirement is expected to occur by March 21, 2001. The period of performance will extend through July 15, 2001. Interested parties may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement. This notice of intent is not a request for competition. However, the Government will consider all responses received by the closing data. Written responses to this synopsis shall contain sufficient documentation to establish a bona fide capability to fulfill the requirement.
