Description

This is a notice of sole source intent by the Mobile District Corps of Engineers, to enter into a supplemental agreement with Intersteel Inc., Lexington, KY, to modify construction contract No. DACA01-98-C-0066, for the acquisition and installation of varying items of communications equipment. The construction contract was awarded to Intersteel on 31 August 1998 and the completed facility is expected to be accepted and turned over to the Army Reserve by May 2001. It is in the best interest of the government to modify Intersteel's on-going contract, so that the communications installation may be fully coordinated by the prime on-site general contractor to ensure system compatibility, installation coordination and sequencing and single source warranty support for the completed facility within the expected contract completion. This is in accordance with FAR 6.302-1, for Other Than Full & Open Competition.
