Description

Work consists of maintenance dredging in the navigation channel along the Mobile Harbor. Rental of Dredge: consists of removal and satisfactory disposal of all material lying above the plan of -52 feet (or as directed by the Contracting Officer's Representative (COR)), Mean Lower Low Water (MLLW), over the bottom widths (full and/or partial) and applicable side slopes at specific work location(s) all within the specified dredging limits of this contract. Rental Dredge Plant: consists of furnishing and operating a hopper dredge with pump discharge of not less than 24-inch diameter nor more than 33.5-inch diameter complete with all necessary materials, supplies, labor and transportation including fuel, power, and water for excavation operations as specified. General excavation limits include the entire Mobile Harbor, however specific locations will be directed by the Government within the total contract limits. All work will occur only as directed by the COR. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code for this project is 234990. Bid documents are available on or about 26 March 2001. Estimated cost of work is between $1,000,000 and $5,000,000. Unrestricted. All responsible sources may submit a bid, which shall be considered. Bidders, subcontractors and Dodge/Plan Rooms are required to self-register their firm or office on the Internet. Plans and specifications will not be provided in a printed paper format; however, the Government reserves the right to revert to paper medium when it is determined to be in the Government's best interest. All bid forms, bid bonds, and other normal documents required for the bid submittal, including amendments to the bid submittal, shall be in paper medium. Electronic medium for the bid submittal documents will not be allowed. Critical Path Method (Network Analysis System) is not required. For this job, a small business is defined as having average annual receipts of less than $17,000,000 for the past three years.
