Description

This is a special notice issued by Westinghouse Savannah River Company (WSRC), management and operating contractor for the U.S. Department of Energy's Savannah River Site near Aiken, South Carolina. WSRC wishes to determine public interest in licensing for commercial resell the Automated D/3 to VISIO Analog Diagrams (ADVAD) software that generates a graphical representation of the processing of analog information in the Distributed Control System (DCS). This graphical representation is not only easier to understand than the underlying analog text file, it also enhances the user's understanding of the internal DCS processing. ADVAD has the potential to dramatically improve documentation creation for analog inputs for GSE D/3 DCS by: providing consistent standards for all diagrams; reducing manpower requirements by eliminating CAD/engineering review/error correction cycles; reducing manpower requirements since the program can generate the diagrams orders of magnitude faster than a human; providing quality assurance checks by examining the diagrams for visually apparent database imperfections; and providing graphs to show shapes of Function Generator Block functions. The user can configure the program to select the type of information on the diagrams and how the information will be represented.
