Description

Contractor shall provide all labor, materials, equipment, transportation, supervision and disposal necessary for painting and floor refinishing of Military Family Housing at U.S. Coast Guard Air Station Cape Cod, MA. Work consists of preparing and painting surfaces (i.e., walls, ceilings, doors, closets, kitchen, cabinets, trim, molding, and other areas) and refinishing existing hardwood floors. Floors shall be refinished by either screening or sanding the existing floors and applying high-gloss polyurethane. The determination of which method will be employed in each unit (screening or sanding) shall be made by the Contracting Officer or his/her technical representative. Work shall be performed in the resident housing areas and other buildings that are at U.S. Coast Guard Air Station Cape Cod, Massachusetts Military Reservation (MMR), MA 02542. This is a requirements contract with performance to be scheduled by placing orders with the contractor. The contract period of performance will be from on/about 1 May 2001 through August 2001. Solicitation packages to be available on or about 23 March 2001. The date for receipt of proposals is 23 April 2001 at 4:00 pm local time. A bidders list is no longer available. This project is issued pursuant to the Small Business Competitiveness Demonstration Program, and is unrestricted. THE FOLLOWING NOTICE IS PROVIDED AS INFORMATION FOR MINORITY, WOMEN-OWNED, AND DISADVANTAGED BUSINESS ENTERPRISES: The Dept of Transportation (DOT) Office of Small and Disadvantaged Business Utilization (OSDBU) has programs to assist minority, women-owned and disadvantaged business enterprises to acquire short-term working capital and bonding assistance for transportation-related contracts. This is applicable to any eligible prime or subcontract at any tier. The DOT Bonding Assistance Program enables firms to apply for bid, payment and performance bonds up to $1.0 million per contract. The DOT provides an 80% guaranty on the bond amount to a surety against losses. Loans are available under the DOT Short-term Lending Program (STLP) at prime interest rates to provide accounts receivable financing. The max. line of credit is $500,000.
