Description

Sources sought to rent a Remotely Operated Vehicle (ROV) for research operations in the vicinity of Kodiak, AK. Contractor must provide operator to operate the rov. The operator must have at least two years experience operating ROV's in Alaskan marine waters and be capable of on-board troubleshooting and repair of the ROV. The work will consist of launching, operating and recovering the ROV. Each charter will begin and end in Kodiak, AK. The ROV must be operated by contractor and be capable of 100 m depth. The ROV must also possess high resolution color video camera with live feed; high resolution (>300 kHz ) sector scanning sonar; capable of integrating with Trakpoint USBL positioning system and navigation software; and capable of capture and recovering live crabs from the seafloor. Rental period will be between 4/15/01 -- 5/31/01. All responsible sources may submit an offer which shall be considered by the agency. This is a simplified acquisition with an estimated value of less than $100,000.
