- Description
- The U.S. Army Tank-Automotive and Armaments Command-Armament Research, Development and Engineering Center (TACOM-ARDEC) in conjunction with the Picatinny Chapter of the NDIA, is sponsoring a three-day Tri-Service Government/Industry Fuze Workshop to be conducted on 8 -- 10 May, 2001 in the Victor Lindner Conference Center, Building One, Picatinny Arsenal, NJ. Industry participation in the Fuze Workshop will be limited to the National Technology and Industrial Base (US and Canada). The purpose of the workshop is to provide an interactive forum for industry to gain a better understanding of pending and forecasted ammunition fuzing acquisition and technology developments. The workshop will provide a complete laydown of the DOD's future fuze/fuzing system requirements and should serve to assist industry in developing future business strategies. The fuzing requirements shall be presented by representatives from the U.S. Army, the U.S. Navy and the U.S. Air Force. Government presentations will address conventional out-of-line Fuzes and Safety and Arming Devices as well as in-line Electronic Safety and Arming Systems. The workshop will be conducted in three sessions: SESSION I (Closed Session, Government Only) -- State of the Fuze Industrial Base. SESSION II (Open Session, Government/ Industry) -- Government briefings to Industry. SESSION III (Closed Session) One-on-ones, Government and participants from Industry. The one-on-one sessions will be strictly cotrolled by schedule. In order to facilitate the planning process, companies intending to participate in the workshop are requested to notify the Army Fuze Management Office by either U.S. mail to Commander, ARDEC, ATTN: Army Fuze Management Office/AMSTA-AR-CCZ, Building 1, floor 3, Picatinny Arsenal, NJ 07806-5000, or e-mail 1mcconn@pica.army.mil by 31 March 2001. In order to establish a schedule for the follow-on government/industry meetings, those companies that wish to participate in a one-on-one with government representatives must indicate their intent to participate and provide an estimate of the time required for their presentation. Please note that these one-on-one sessions are not to be used by industry participants to present company capabilities or current/past fuze/fuzing system development/production performance. Presentations/discussions are to be used solely for the purpose of addressing company issues and/or concerns. The schedule will be established so as to allow time for discussion during these presentations. Time available for the workshop is limited, therefore, requests for these one-on-one sessions will be accommodated on a first come/first serve basis until the allocated time for the workshop is filled. Also, the time allotment requested might need to be reduced to accommodate maximum participation of interested industry. A registration fee of $60.00 is required to cover administrative fees, breaks and a lunch on the secnd day. NDIA now has the capability to accept credit cards (VISA, Master Card and American Express) for payment. Payment of this fee is to be arranged by contacting the local chapter of the NDIA, Barbara Thomas at (973) 328-7588, or by fax (973) 328-1209.
