Description

Design/Build Reduce Steam Pressure: Mechanical Contractor will provide a design (Licensed Engineer) and associated construction to convert 3 existing high pressure boilers for operation at low steam pressure (less than 15lbs steam pressure). Project will include modifications to the existing steam distribution system including but not limited to removal of certain pressure reducing valves, replacing high and medium pressure steam traps with low pressure steam traps; replacing feed water pumps; modifying and replacing boiler controls, burners and fuel train components. Design will be in accordance with VA Master Construction Specificaitons, NFPA Code and OSHA Standards. NAICS Code 235110 applies. The size standard is $11.5 million dollars in gross annual sales. Confirmation of a pre-proposal conference date, time and location will be contained in the solicitation package. ATTENDANCE AT THE PREPROPOSAL CONFERENCE IS MANDATORY AND NO EXCEPTIONS SHALL BE MADE. Proposals received from non-attendees will be rejected. The estimated cost range for this project is $250,000 to $500,000.
