Description

5110-00-180-2892 UI: EA CUTTER, RIVET, SHEAR TYPE: DESCRIPTION Cutter shall be capable of cutting aluminum rivets (except rivets made of aluminum 1100F) with universal or countersunk heads of 1/16, 3/32, 1/8, 5/32, 3/16, and 1/4 inch in diameter in predetermined lengths of 1/4 to 3/4 inch in increments of 1/16 inch by use of 8 interchangable gauges. The cutter shall be the squeeze type, of all metal construction and capable of shearing the rivets by an inward movement of the handles. The contact surface of the shearing blades shall have a hardness of Rockwell "C" 55 to 65 and the rivet receiver holes shall be chamfered 40 degrees to 1/64 inch for easy access and removal of rivets. Maximum operating force when cutting a 1/4 inch diameter rivet shall not exceed 100 pounds. Overall length maximum of 16 inches, width in open position not to exceed 6 inches, and maximum weight of 2-1/2 pounds. Cutter shall have a rust preventive finish.
