- Description
- NASA's Goddard Space Flight Center (GSFC) is seeking an industry partner(s)for participation in the Geostationary Observatory for Tropospheric Air Chemistry (GeoTRACE) mission. This mission is proposed to respond to the NASA Announcement of Opportunity (AO) for the Earth Science System Pathfinder (ESSP) Program. The industry partner(s) will design, build, test, and calibrate an UV/visible spectrometer, one of the two GeoTRACE instruments. The instrument will be integrated into a partner provided payload module along with the other GeoTRACE instrument that will be furnished by NASA. Additional information about ESSP can be accessed at http://essp.larc.nasa.gov/essp/. It is expected that primary selection of the GeoTRACE mission under the AO and the availability of funds would result in a contract to build, test and calibrate the UV/VIS instrument and integrate it with the NASA furnished CO instrument into a payload module. The module will be integrated onto a spacecraft provided by the partner or by someone else. GSFC plans to select a partner(s) using the following steps: 1) issue the Partnership Opportunity Document, which includes a mission overview of GeoTRACE, instrument specifications and instructions about how to respond to this partnership opportunity; 2) schedule oral presentations; 3) receive presentation packages from interested Partnership Opportunity Document respondents; 4) conduct oral presentations, March 27-29, 2001; and 5) evaluate oral and written presentations. All Parternship Opportunity Document respondents who intend to make an oral presentation must provide written or electronic notice by no later than 5:00 p.m. Eastern Standard Time, March 16, 2001. Notice shall be by e-mail to Dale Schulz at dale.schulz@gsfc.nasa.gov or in writing to NASA/Goddard Space Flight Center, Attention: Dale Schulz, Code 700.1, Building 12, Room N232, Greenbelt, MD 20771. All Parternship Opportunity Document respondents shall deliver their complete oral presentation packages to Dale Schulz at the above address by no later than 5:00 p.m. Eastern Standard Time on March 23, 2001. Contact Mr. Schulz at (301) 286-8417 if you have any question or require additional information. This Partnership Opportunity Document does not represent a guarantee of selection for hardware development. GSFC does not currently have a requirement for this mission or funds available to support its development. In responding to this notice please reference "GEOTrace Partnership Opportunity Document". This solicitation/synopsis is not to be construed as a commitment by the Government nor will the Government pay for the information solicited. An ombudsman has been appointed. See Internet Note "B". The documents for this partnership opportunity will be in Microsoft Office Suite (Word 6.0, Excel 5.0, or PowerPoint 4.0) format and will reside on a World Wide Web (WWW) server, which may be accessed using a WWW browser application.
