- DESC: NSNs: 8415-01-463-7151, 7150, 5829, 5830, Part Numbers: CSP9D0400-1, -2, -3, -4. The item to procure is a chemical resistant Improved Toxicological Agent Protective (ITAP) suit in four sizes. This solicitation is restricted to ChemFab Corporation, 701 Daniel Webster Highway, Merrimack, NH 03054 due to proprietary rights to material. Offers from concerns other than ChemFab are not solicited. This is published for subcontracting purposes only. There is no technical data available. The aforementioned contractor is a large business. This proposed action will result in a firm fixed price, 3 year requirements type contract with two 1 year options to extend the period of performance. First Article testing is required. The maximum estimated quantity is 12,000. FOB is Destination. The ITAP Suit will provide chemical protection during peacetime and wartime for short-term operations in Immediately Dangerous to Life and Health (IDLH) toxic chemical environments, emergency life saving responses, technical escort responses, routine depot operations, and initial entry monitoring. The suit will provide chemical, splash and vapor protection against a potential exposure to liquid agent at OSHA Level B and Level C for up to 2 hours. The ITAP material consists of flouropolymer material developed by ChemFab. The material provides a high level of protection and a flame resistant base to protect against chemical agents such as Sarin (GB), Soman (GD), and VX. The suit will interface with an optional Personal Ice Cooling System (PICS). It shall be constructed from a fabric that is self-extinguishing, in accordance with NFPA 1991, static dissipative, and light in color. It shall be capable of being stored within the temperature range of 0 120 degrees Fehrenheit. The suit shall be capable of being decontaminated for a minimum of 5-reuses, 2 hours per use (1 hour at IDLH), after vapor and particulate contamination. Estimated issue date is 032301. This solicitation will be issued electronically in accordance with FAR 4.501, 5.102(a)(7) and 14.205-1(c) therefore hardcopies will not be provided. Failure to obtain any said amendments and to respond to them prior to the date and time set for bid opening/receipt of proposals may render your bid or proposal nonresponsive and result in the rejection of same.
