Description

The Defense Supply Center Philadelphia (DSCP) is soliciting Request for Proposals (RFP) from business entities interested in participating in an acquisition for sewing machines and related parts. The initiative will encompass equipment and parts associated with sewing machines, as found under Federal Supply Class (FSC) 3530. The types of items consist of needles, bobbins, machine belts, cylinder shuttles and sewing machines. This list of equipment and parts is not all-inclusive and is only a representative sample of items to be found under the planned solicitation. The majority of the items are name brand specific commercial items. Prospective contractors should be able to adequately support purchases of equipment. Prospective contractors will be required to have Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) capability. The subject solicitation will be issued as a 100% small business set-aside. The resultant contract will be a fixed price, Indefinite Quantity Contract (IQC) with a one-year base period and four (4) one-year options. Solicitation # SPO500-00-R-0181, which includes a complete list of items, details, terms and conditions, and is expected to be issued March 7, 2001 with an estimated closing date of April 6, 2001.
