Description

The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) has a requirement for the renovation of one elevator with options to renovate up to 13 additional elevators at its site located in Gaithersburg, Maryland. The elevators, all manufactured by Haughton Elevator Company, are located in various General Purpose Laboratories at NIST. Specific requirements for the renovation include upgrading, hoistway painting, and monitoring and diagnostics. A detailed specification will be issued with the solicitation. The contract period of performance is 220 days after receipt of Notice To Proceed. Each option will contain a 220 day (after receipt of Notice To Proceed) performance period. The magnitude of construction inclusive of options is anticipated to be between $1M and $5M. This procurement is 100% set aside for small business (NAICS 235950, SIC 1796, and $11.5M). See Numbered Notes 1 and 26. Contract award will be made on the basis of the best value to the Government with price, technical and past performance factors considered.
