- Description
- DOE Ohio Field Office is interested in learning about and potentially pursuing innovative concepts for cost-effective transportation of waste to disposal sites such as the Nevada Test Site and Envirocare of Utah. A meeting will be held on Wednesday, April 11, 2001, at the Ohio Field Office, Room 423, for Department of Energy, Ohio Field Office, employees engaged in the transportation process, Facilities Management employees at DOE Ohio Field Office sites, and for representatives from any interested firms in the marketplace which have ideas to contribute. The meeting is scheduled to begin at 10:00am and continue until attendees have finished presenting concepts. If you are interested in being a part of this meeting, provide your firm's name, the number of attendees, and the amount of time you would like to have to present your ideas. No presentation will be permitted to exceed 20 minutes with 10 additional minutes provided for a question/answer period. Submit the information requested to Linda J. Ketchum, U.S. Department of Energy, Ohio Field Office, 1 Mound Road, Miamisburg, OH 45343-3020, Phone (937)865-4260 or e-mail: linda.ketchum@ohio.doe.gov. Currently the office uses either rail or truck service to provide shipments from its sites at West Valley Demonstration Project (WVDP), Ashtabula Environmental Management Project (AEMP), Fernald Environmental Management Project (FEMP), and Miamisburg Environmental Management Project (MEMP). Wastes shipped result from decontaminates, decommissioning, and environmental restoration at the sites. The waste includes radioactive and/or chemical contaminates at levels acceptable at the waste disposal sites.
