Description

This is a combined synopsis and solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in FAR Subpart 12.6 as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; proposals are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. Request For Quotation (RFQ) number is N66604-01-Q-2751. NUWC Division Newport intends to purchase the following item: 0001, Sony AIT-2 Tape Init Model SDX-500C/BM Integrated with Kingston Front Loading Carrier, with the following specifications: 1. Sony SDX-500C/BM AIT-2 tape drive units; 2. Kingston front loading carriers that will support the scsi wide on Sony SDX-500C/BM tape units; 3. Integration of Sony tape unit with Kingston carrier. The Sony tape unit must mount flush (no more that 1/8th of an inch protrusion is acceptable) into the carrier. Requirements: Sony SDX-500C/BM AIT-2 Drive units w/front load Kingston carriers, which will support the 68 pin wide Sony AIT device. This equipment must be modified and the Awardee will be responsible for mounting the carrier to the Sony SDX-500C BM AIT-2 Drive units. Any additional hardware needed to integrate the Sony SDX-500C/BM AIT-2 Drive units w/front load Kingston carriers will be the responsibility of the Awardee. The integrated unit must fit into an existing Kingston DS-500 disk array unit and be compatible w/Solaris 2.7 environments. No Kingston receiving frames are needed and there have been no modifications within the existing receiving frame or disk array unit. The disk array chassis contains two 9" box fans that will regulate the temperature. The external cable from the disk array has a 68-pin connector (SCSI wide). The internal cabling (ribbon case) has a different set of pins not necessarily 68. The integrated unit must be customized to sit flush in the Kingston DS-500 and protrude no more than a 1/8". Any protrusion of greater than 1/8" is not acceptable. The drive/carrier unit must be removable from the Kingston disk array chassis. Installation of the integrated unit into the Kingston DS-500 on various classified boats will be performed by NUWCDIVNPT. quantity 10. Required delivery is 21 days after award, F.O.B. Destination Naval Station Newport; Newport, RI. This is 100% set-aside for small business. NAICS Code is 334310; size standard is 750. Incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 97-15. FAR 52.212-1 Instructions to Offerors -- Commercial Items applies.
