Description

The Naval Air Systems Command intends to issue a firm fixed price contract modification to General Dynamics-OTS, Inc. (formerly Defense Research Inc.) under government contract number N00019-00-C-0128. The modification is to procure up to 1,200 retrofitted Mk 1 Mod 5 Cager Assemblies (Drawing 639AS10800). The government will supply Mk 1 Mod 2 Cager Assemblies to the contractor who will disassemble the Cager, replace the Cager Barrel with a MK 1 MOD 5 configuration, and reassemble and test to the requirements of the Mk 1 Mod 5 Cager Assembly. As a result of operational evaluation testing on the advanced F/A-18E/F "Super Hornet", a more robust wing design is required. Only General Dynamics-OTS (DRI) can meet the agency requirements for integration of the AIM-9M Sidewinder missile in support of the F/A-18E/F "Super Hornet" deployment schedules.
