REPAIR/UPGRADE ELEVATORS, FORT HOOD, TEXAS, SOL DAKF48-01-B-0001 -- Tenative Issue Date: 3/2/01. Item 0001: Repair Elevators. Quantity: 1 Lump Sum. Del to BUILDING 4612 ENGINEER DRIVE, FORT HOOD, TX, 76544-5028. Duration: 4/1/01 through 9/30/01; Provide all labor, equipment and materials to upgrade 26 elevators of various designs in serveral builidngs throughout Fort Hood, Texas. The work includes, but is not limited to, providing safe and easy access to elevator pits, emergency stop switches, sump pumps in pits, enclosing hoistways with fire restrictive enclosures, relocating piping and ducts, provide various safety signs, fire extinguishers, and ADA-approved two-way communication equipment. Justification for noncompetitive action: Incumbent maintenance service provider required to maintain equipment with State safety code. Incumbent maintenance service provider retains responsibility for all work performed and assumes all liability for workmanship, quality and safety issues required by code.
