Description

The U. S. Army Engineer District, New Orleans, has a requirement for the dry-docking and repair to the US Hopper Dredge Wheeler, an all-steel hopper dredge. Hull dimensions are: Length -- 408 ft, breadth molded -- 78 ft, minimum draft aft -- 21.5 ft, registered gross tonnage -- 10,614.47 long tons, and ballast fuel and water -- 600 long tons. Work shall include the replacement of one set of hull castings, associated steel work, and replacement of two sets of Controllable Pitch Propeller Blades with Government furnished replacements. Work shall be completed within (5) five Calendar days from receipt of the vessel with quotes limited to shipyards in the United States within the Gulf of Mexico Region and within 600 nautical miles of the sea buoy at Southwest Pass, Mississippi River. The Contractor should plan on receipt of the vessel (availability) on or about April 16, 2001. Solicitation DACW29-01-T-0071 is issued as a Request for Quote(RFQ). This solicitation is being procured as a Firm Fixed Price contract, Master Ship Repair Agreement under FAR 12, Commercial Item. The applicable Standard Industrial Code is 3731 and the business size is 1,000 employees including its affiliates. The NAICS code is 336611. This solicitation is issued as 100% small business set aside. All interested parties may request a complete solicitation package by fax, 504-862-2889. No telephone requests will be accepted. Quotes are due on or about March 27, 2001 at 1400 hours.
