- Description
- The Food and Drug Administration has a requirement for analyzing the economic impacts of existing or pending legislation, enforcement, or regulations, in the cosmetic and food safety areas. The contractor shall perform work including, but not limited to: estimating marginal changes in social welfare in terms of economic costs and benefits; estimate effects on the competitive position of small businesses in accordance with regulations; estimate the effects on product variety and quality; estimate costs to society of potential _rent seeking_ activities by firms as a result of proposed or final actions by FDA; and develop methods to incorporate the results of risk assessments into cost-benefit analyses. This is a recompetition of an on-going contract for economic cost/benefit studies of cosmetic and food safety issues. The solicitation will only be available on the FDA web page at http://www.fda.gov/oc/ofacs/contracts. Prospective offers are responsible for downloading the solicitation format (pdf). A link to the free downloadable Adobe Acrobat Reader software will be available at the same site. It is the offeror_s responsibility to monitor the FDA web page for the release of the solicitation and amendments. The RFP should be available for downloading on/after March 19, 2001. The FDA reserves the right to award without discussions. Technical questions shall be received not later than twelve (12) days after release of the Request for Proposal (RFP).
