Description
Currently, Bechtel Nevada (BN) has a Blanket Agreement whereby a wide range of Information Technology (IT) hardware and software items are purchased. BN intends to solicit proposals for a replacement Blanket Agreement and is seeking potential sources. The new agreement(s) is expected to be in place by August 1, 2001 as a Small Business Set-Aside and be effective for a period of three years. The combined hardware and software purchases are estimated to be $1 million per year. BN prefers that this agreement(s) have a Web-Based application with on-line ordering capabilities (shopping cart) based on established discounts from manufacturer list prices. Award(s) will be made on a best-value basis and innovative solutions based on the most modern technology will be considered. Specific provisions of the agreement(s) that might be evaluated could include: -- Variety of products offered. -- Ability to search catalogs for low unit prices. -- User-friendly applications for ordering personnel (point and click). -- Delivery windows and freight for standard and non-standard products. -- Procedures to handle unavailability of ordered items, credits for returned or incorrect items, etc. -- Availability of weekly order status reports. -- Packaging and protection of material. BN will consider the following options: 1) To issue a single agreement to include both hardware and software; 2) To issue separate agreements for hardware and software; or 3) To issue multiple agreements for hardware, software, or both. Responses from interested firms are requested by March 16, 2001. Responses should include a brief overview of vendor capabilities related to Web-Based applications, other similar contractual agreements already in place, etc.
