Description

Notice of availability of a prospectus for the award of one or more concession contracts authorizing food and beverage outlets; mobile food service carts, beach umbrella and chair rental, and the sale of related beach and picnic merchandise for park visitors within Jacob Riis Park, Jamaica Bay Unit, Gateway National Recreation Area, near Breezy Point in Queens, New York, for a period of three years. Operations are conducted within the bathhouse pavilion as well as other free-standing buildings at Jacob Riis Park, for a minimum of five months each year, from May through September. All equipment and furnishings needed to operate shall be provided by the concessioner(s). An offeror may submit offers on single, multiple or all fixed locations; mobile operations may be incorporated with fixed locations or offered separately. The approximate number of visitors for the summer of 2000 was 355,135. Annual gross receipts for 1999 were $202,377. The Director, National Park Service, has determined pursuant to 36 CFR Part 51 that no preferred offeror for this contract exists. Offers are due April 30, 2001.
