- The solicitation will be issued electronically on the FEDBIZOPPS web page on or about March 15, 2001 at http://www.eps.gov/. Please sign up for the Auto Notification service to receive an e-mail from FEDBIZOPPS when an action is taken under this solicitation. Hard copies of the solicitation will be provided only upon request. Provide all labor, material and equipment necessary to perform drydock repairs including but not limited to the following Base and Option items: (1) welding repairs, (2) repair bulwark hull plating, (3) clean, inspect, and preserve diesel fuel and oil tank(s), (4) clean and inspect sewage and grey water collection and holding tank(s), (5) preserve sewage and grey water collection and holding tank(s), (6) renew watertight doors, (7) remove, inspect, and reinstall propeller shaft, (8) renew shaft covering, (9) renew water-lubricated shaft bearings, (10) renew shaft sleeves, (11) remove and reinstall propeller, (12) preserve the transducer hull ring and renew the depth indicating transducers, (13) clean shipboard ventilation systems, (14) overhaul, renew, and test valves, (15) overhaul, renew, and test potable water valves, (16) clean and inspect hot water/chill water circulation system, (17) remove, inspect and reinstall rudder assembly, (18) disassemble and inspect the bow thruster, (19) inspect and test weight handling equipment (level I), (20) overhaul anchor(s) and anchor chain(s), (21) overhaul and weight test shipboard davit crane (CT) (Allied Marine Crane -- Model Davit 5000), (22) overhaul and test motor safety boat davit, (23) inspect, test, and repack liferafts and hydrostatic releases, (24) preserve sewage space bilge, (25) preserve buoy deck, (26) preserve underwater body, (27) inspect and test relief valves, (28) ultrasonic testing, (29) provide temporary logistics, (30) routine drydocking, and (31) GFP Report in Accordance With Solicitation Section H. The vessel is a 180 Foot Seagoing Buoy Tender which is 180 feet in length and 37 feet in width. Vessel's homepier is located at 1201 Minnesota Avenue in Duluth, MN 55802-2492. Vessel's minimum depth of water is 18 feet, and the minimum height clearance is 85 feet. The performance period is fifty-six (56) calendar days beginning on or about June 25, 2001. Funds are available for this procurement. All reference documents are available for viewing at 300 East Main Street, Suite 600, Norfolk, VA 23510-9102. Drawings are now available on CD-ROM. The CD-ROM sets are available for all cutters and will be free of charge to contractors upon request [ten days from solicitation issuance]. MLCA must have ten (10) days advance notice to complete a CD-ROM set of drawings. The CD-ROM(s) contain WINDOWS compliant raster/vector formats (e.g.*.DWF, etc). Drawings are still available in hardcopy; however, a non-refundable charge of $150.00 is required in the form of a certified check or money order made payable to the U.S. Coast Guard for requested drawings. This procurement is subject to the Small Business Competitiveness Demonstration Program. All businesses, large and small, are encouraged to submit bids for subject requirements. Plans and specifications will be issued on or about March 15, 2001. All responsible sources may submit a bid, which shall be considered by the United States Coast Guard. "Attention: Minority, Women-owned, and Disadvantaged Business Enterprises (DBE's)! The Department of Transportation (DOT), Short Term Lending Program (STLP) offers working capital financing in the form of lines of credit to finance accounts receivable for transportation related contracts.
