Description

This is a modification to the CBD notice published 2/14/01, (cite W-045SN50D6J1). The requirement is a phase II sole source effort to a BAA R&D contract, to determine the feasibility of using a high energy specialized photo-neutron based probe. This is intended to be a a sole source award to Advanced Research and Applications Corporation (ARACOR), Sunnyvale, CA. This effort requires continuation of the high energy specialized x-ray system research of ARACOR's proprietary photo-neutron based probe. This inspection system will be used to re-examine specific areas to determine if they contain the characteristic signature of explosives, chemical weapons, special nuclear material or drugs. Any other firm desiring consideration must fully identify its capability to perform this requirement. No solicitation for this follow-on effort will be issued. Again, a determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract is solely within the discretion of the Government.
