Description

This announcement is a modification to a previously published notice (January 26,2001). Please note phone number change for Bill Bryant above. This project is for the design and construction of a facility to be identified as the SM-43 Replacement Project. The SM-43 Replacement Project will replace the forty-five (45) year old administration building at Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL). The project will design and construct office space for approximately seven hundred (700) employees in two hundred seventy five thousand (275,000) square feet of building, a detached auditorium, and a four-hundred (400) car parking garage. The project will be designed and constructed under a Design-Build contract with an estimated cost of approximately $60M. Design and construction work is scheduled to start October 2002 and be complete by September 2005. No security clearance or escort is required for work at this site. The Laboratory's Project Management Division will oversee the design and construction of this project. The University intends to award a firm-fixed-price contract to the successful design-build firm that best meets the Laboratory's goals and objectives. Because capital funding for this project becomes available in Fiscal Year 2003, submitted firm fixed-price cost proposals must remain valid until November 30, 2002. Selection will be based on a best-value source selection process using a two-phased approach: Phase 1, being the Request for Qualifications (RFQ); and Phase 2, being the Request for Proposal (RFP). Pre-Qualification Conference: At 9:00 AM on March 15, 2001 the project team will conduct a conference to review the scope of work and selection process with companies that have exhibited an interest to participate in this solicitation. It will be held at the Marriott, Albuquerque, New Mexico. This conference will provide specific information Phase I of the solicitation.
