Description

R -- The U.S. Dept. of Commerce/NOAA/NWS/Office of Hydrology intends to negotiate on a sole source basis with Jonach Electronics, Inc. to provide the "as-needed" services of a technical system administrator for the Passaic Flood Warning System in New Jersey. The contractor shall be responsible for proper system operation of all rain gages, computers, wireless local area networks, and other communications hardware used to convey rain gage data from sensors to county emergency management agencies, and state and Federal offices. All sites are in New Jersey and metropolitan New York. The proposed contractor meets the following specified requirements: 1) Experience/knowledge of the existing network software and hardware computer and communications systems configurations, locations, and personnel unique to the Passaic Flood Warning System; 2) Specialized experience/knowledge of DataCommand/QNX software and IFLOWS software; 3) Experience/knowledge of emergency operations procedures; 4) Familiarity with the Passaic Flood Warning user community; 5) Based in the Passaic River Basin. Period of Performance: Date of Award thru September 30, 2001. This is a notice of intent with no solicitation package available. Award will be made using simplified acquisition procedures.
