Description

The Government desires to enter into a contract to provide Orthotist/Prosthetist Services for the following VISN 22 facilities: 1) up to 0.8 Full-Time Equivalent Employee (FTEE) at the Jerry L. Pettis VA Medical Center, 11201 Benton Street, Loma Linda, CA 92357 and 2) up to 1.0 FTEE at the Addelair D. Guy III Ambulatory Care Center, 1700 Vegas Drive, Las Vegas, NV 89106. The services will be required to augment current VA staffing. The resulting contract will be effective for a base period of one year, with the Government having the option to exercise four one-year periods. Orthotist/Prosthetist shall be Certified or Eligible in Orthotics, and Certified or Eligible in Prosthetics, with the American Board for Certification in Orthotics and Prosthetics. Orthotist/Prosthetist shall have at least two years of relevant experience and possess a current valid license. At a minimum, Orthotist shall: a) understand and use proper medical, prosthetic and orthotic terminology when reading prescriptions and consulting with physician; b) be knowledgeable and skilled in the use of those tools and machines needed to measure, design, fabricate and fit orthotic devices; c) knowledgeable of technology of materials commonly used; and d) knowledgeable of computer aided design, computer aided manufacturing and hydraulic and pneumatic devices. This solicitation is 100% set aside for small business concerns (NAICS 621991, $7.5m). Solicitation will be issued on/about March 2, 2001, with responses due on/about March 29, 2001 at 4:00 pm.
