Description

The Space and Naval Warfare Systems Command (SPAWAR Headquarters) intends to award a sole source contract to Diagnostic Retrieval Systems (DRS) Electronic Systems, Inc. 200 Professional Drive, Gaithersburg, MD for the supplies and services necessary to upgrade and enhance the Underwater System (UWS) portions of the Mobile Inshore Undersea Warfare (MIUW) fielded systems, including the AN/SQR?17A Signal Processing System (SPS), the AN/SQQ-T1 Readiness Trainer System (RTS), and Light Array Sub System (LASS). DRS will also provide spare parts and repair services that may be required for the fielded systems. The sole source justification was based on the fact that DRS maintains the proprietary data from the development effort and was the sole source for the development and manufacturing of the UWS portions of MIUW systems. DRS is the only qualified source to perform the upgrades and repair efforts under this contract. The actual contract value is dependent on receipt of funds, however the estimated contract value is for $15,000,000 over a five-year period.
