Description

The objective of this contract is to provide on-and-off site technical support services for Turner-Fairbanks Highway Research Center for the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) Asphalt Pavement Team and Coatings Team (APT/CT). This work will deal with fundamental and applied research, equipment operation, material testing, data acquisition, data analysis, and training activities related to pavements, asphalt mixtures, chemistry, imaging, and protective coatings. The support services for the Asphalt Pavement Program also includes operation of the Pavement Test Facility. This facility contains two Accelerated Loading Facility (ALF) machines. In addition, the contractor shall provide services for performing research and testing on industrial coating materials. Test materials potentially include corrosion protective coatings for steal & concrete structures and road delineation coating materials. Testing may include standardized and custom test procedures and equipment according to need. The contractor shall be capable of formulating relevant test protocols for investigating the durability of selected coating materials in a manner suitable to the proposed application. This requirement is total set aside for small disadvantage business.
