Description

The U.S. Department of Agriculture, Food Safety & Inspection Service (FSIS) anticipates the award of a sole source contract to Camag Scientific, Inc., pursuant to the authority sited in FAR 6 for the purchase of a scanning densitometer. It is a thin layer chromatography (TLC) plate scanner capable of scanning 19 lanes on a 20 cm x 20 cm silica gel TLC plate. The scanner should be tunable to an excitation wavelength of 410 Nm and monitor an emission wavelength of 410 Nm and be Y2K compliant. Installation of the scanner is required and an IBM compatible computer is required for this instrument. NO SOLICITATION DOCUMENT WILL BE ISSUED AS A RESULT OF THIS SYNOPSIS. Camag Scientific, Inc. is the only known source for providing this type of scanner. All interested concerns must identify their interest in writing and fully document their capability to meet the agency_s requirements by forwarding a detailed response by March 14, 2001. All responses must be in writing and may be faxed to (301) 504-4276. All proposals from responsible sources will be considered by the Agency. If no affirmative written response is received by March 14th to determine that a comparable source is available, or is more advantageous to the Government, negotiations will take place with Camag Scientific, Inc.
