On July 16, 17, and 18, 2001, the Kaiserslautern AFCEA Chapter of Ramstein Air Base will host its annual IT Exposition. This 2 2 day technology expo takes place in conjunction with the Annual AFCEA Ramstein Technology Conference. Over 1,000 attendees are expected to visit this popular evaluation forum. United States Air Forces in Europe (USAFE) is headquartered at Ramstein Air Base, and is an Air Force major command and the air component of the U.S. European Command. Ramstein Air Base is part of the Kaiserslautern Military Community (KMC). It is the largest American community outside of the United States, with more than 43,000 Air Force, Army, DoD, civilian and contracting personnel, and their families. Ramstein is a NATO installation and is the headquarters for Allied Forces Central Europe as well as USAFE. This event will be promoted to all of the following organizations: USAFE HQ, 86th Airlift Wing, NATO, Air Mobility Command, the entire Kaiserslautern Military Community including U.S. Army Europe (USAREUR), Sembach Annex, DoD Contractors, Rhein-Main Air Base-Frankfurt, 469th Air Base Group, all Ramstein Air Base tenants, and AFCEA members throughout Europe. The following is an example of the requested technologies: connectivity, simulation software, virtual reality, VTC, LAN/WAN, systems integration, ground exploitation systems, data warehousing, UNIX, deployable communications, interoperability, encryption, mass storage, telecommunications, security capabilities, digital authentication, multimedia management, hubs/switches/routers, PC hardware/software, information protection (ASIM/NSA), internet/intranet, signal processing, detection of chem/bio/nuc production or storage, and digital imaging.
