Description

United Defense, L.P., Armament System Division has been awarded a contract from the Army Office of Program Management (OPM) Crusader, Picatinny Arsenal, NJ for the development of the next generation of Self-Propelled Howitzer (SPH) and Resupply Vehicle (RSV). The Crusader Seat and Restraint System engineering support has been identified as an item that requires subcontractor development. This effort includes providing technical evaluations and assessments of "Commercial Off-The-Shelf" (COTS) seats. Some slight design modifications of COTS designs is also acceptable. Below are the tasks, set in an integrated product development organizational environment, that will need to be performed: * Required engineering development with support from UDLP's Human Systems Integration Team. * Assess currently available product designs (COTS) or slight modifications to these designs for Crusader. * Perform preliminary evaluations and/or testing in accordance with FMVSS requirements for seat systems, interior material flammability and NBC compliance. * Provide solutions/recommendations with UDLP support. * Development and writing of test plans and procedures. * Final system test activities and final test report results. The subcontractor shall support UDLP's Human Systems Integration Team in coordination of all activities leading to the successful Seat and Restraint System Compliance Certification of the Crusader System.
