Description

The U.S. D. A. Forest Service, Region 2, GMUG National Forest, is soliciting for bids for the Service of Mechanical Fuels Treatment. The Project consists of the Contractor providing all equipment, labor and materials necessary to perform mowing and/or mulching of Gambel Oak, Pinyon/Juniper less than 10" in diameter sage and other on site plant species to the ground. The contractor will provide and use a hydro-mower (hydro-axe)or similar machine to mechanically treat Gambel Oak, Sagebrush and Pinyon/Juniper trees for a wildfire fuels reduction project. The project is located on the Northwest corner of the Uncompahgre Plateau in Mesa County, approximately 8 miles east of Gateway, Colorado. The performance period for this contract is 153 calendar days. Work on this project will begin on or about May 1, 2001 and end September 30, 2001. The proposed contract is available under full and open competition. All responsible sources may submit a bid, which will be considered. The date for the receipt of bids is March 7, 2001, 2:00 p.m. Mountain Standard Time. Plans and Specifications will be available on or before April 9, 2001.
