Description

The Library of Congress intends to renew its maintenance contract with Aquis Communications (former Bell Atlantic Paging)1730 K Street, NW, Suite 900, Washington, DC 20006. Currently the Library's Alpha and Numeric display pagers operate on a proprietary frequency at 152.840Mhz and the Library-owned Bell Atlantic pagers operate only on this frequency. FCC regulations may prohibit other vendors from operating on this particular frequency. Due to poor pager reception in some area within Library buildings, tests have been conducted and resulted in the installation of a Bell Atlantic transmitter to insure proper pager function. Interested firms have 15 days from the publication of this synopsis to submit in writing to the identified point of contact, their qualifications/capabilities. Such qualifications/capabilities will be used solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive bases. Responses received after 15 days or without the required information will be considered nonresponsive to the synopsis and wil lnot be considered. A determination by the Government to not compete this proposed effort is solely with the discretion of the government.
