Description

This is a solicitation for information and planning purposes. NASA has posted a draft Statement of work on the NASA Acquisition Internet Service Web site at http://ec.msfc.nasa.gov/msfc/home.html. The objective of this release is to promote competition and to improve potential offerors' understanding of the Government's requirements. Prospective offerors are invited to submit comments on the specification. Any questions/comments received will be considered during the finalization of the SOW. We are contemplating a hybrid contract, which will include a "Core Support" award fee section, and a performance based IDIQ section. This preliminary information is being made available for planning purposes only, subject to FAR Clause 52.215-3, entitled "Solicitation for Information or Planning Purposes." It does not constitute a Request for Proposal, Invitation for Bid, or Request for Quotation, and it is not to be construed as a commitment by the Government to enter into a contract. This procurement is subject to review or cancellation at any time. The preliminary documents described in this notice constitute all information concerning the Microgravity Science and Applications Department (MSAD) support contract for Systems Development and Operations Support procurement that will be furnished at this time Interested firms are requested to submit any comments and suggestions on the preliminary documents by March 1, 2001 to the address cited above. We anticipate release of the draft solicitation in spring of 2001. It is the responsibility of potential offerors to monitor the NASA Acquisition Internet Service. This RFI is not to be construed as a commitment by the Government, nor will the Government pay for the information solicited. Respondents will not be notified of the results of the review.
