- Description
- Sources Sought for Bunker Cover System DESC: The Technical Support Working Group (TSWG) is seeking sources for a relocatable bunker cover system for the Physical Security mission area. Desired system parameters include: a) Capability to cover all outside surfaces of a concrete culvert section that is approximately 59" H x 71" W x 119" L providing a 24" minimum coverage depth of sand around the outside of the culvert; b)Ability to cover large bunker structures when combining two or more culverts either end-to-end or lined up side by side; c) Modular designs must provide secure connection or be secured to the concrete structure to prevent accidental falling or dislocation; d) Construction material must be sufficiently durable to remain fully functional and serviceable for a minimum of 10 years, being subjected to extreme heat, rain, fine dust/sand and intense ultraviolet light as in the Middle East region; e) Availability in desert tan color, applied during the manufacturing process and not applied to the outer surface only; f) Relocation process shall be quick, yet not be manpower intensive or complicated, nor reduce protection effectiveness when relocated; and g} Minimum operator technical knowledge required to assemble and/or relocate with standard issue DOD or included equipment. System parameters are not absolute thresholds; they are supplied as guidance. This announcement is NOT a formal solicitation and is NOT a request for proposal. Interested parties shall submit a corporate capability statement that is no more than 3 pages and an estimated amount (U.S.$) for the system. This synopsis is for information and planning purposes ONLY and is not to be construed as a commitment by the Government.
