Manufacturer: Metrum-Datatape, Inc. Description; The DTR-8 wideband recorder/reproducer is portable and rack-mountable using commercial off-the-shelf S-VHS tape cassettes for ease of use and cost-effective operation. Designed specifically for instrumentation use, the DTR-8 provides transient-free reproduction of pre-recorded data with a high degree of reliability. This stand-alone recorder is equipped with a single wideband channel of DC to 8 MHz and is capable of recording and/or reproducing different types of data such as FM, PAM, PCM and NRZ, as well as normal analog signals. In addition, the unit is capable of recording two auxiliary channels of data for the time and event coding. With the addition of the Time Division Multiplexer (TDM-8), the DTR-8 can provide up to 8 channels of various types of asynchronous analog data signals with a combined bandwidth of 8 MHz. DTR-8 Features: Commercial Recording Medium- The DTR-8 uses commercially available tape allowing 40 minutes of record time on ST-120 S-VHS cassettes. High Performance- The DTR-8 has an 8 MHz bandwidth with a time base error of +/-10 nanoseconds required for instrumentation applications. Compact Construction- Designed with flexibility in mind, the DTR-8 fits in a half-rack mount enclosure and weighs 21 pounds. This compact unit comes equipped with hinged circuit boards enabling ease of serviceability and maintenance. Designed into the DTR-8 are TTL, RS-422 and IEEE-488 controls interfaces providing for flexibility in connectivity to a host computer system or for manual operation. Auxiliary Channels- In addition to the 8 MHz single wideband channel, the DTR-8 has two auxiliary longitudinal channels with a 100 Hz to 20kHz bandwidth for time or event coding data, or voice annotations via the microphone input. Ease of Use- With just 6 front panel controls, the DTR-8 provides for true user-friendly operation. Economical- The DTR-8 is a cost effective recorder offering the highest performance per dollar spent on initial acquisition, media and maintenance.
