Description

MGM-8G Series VANDAL Aerial Target Systems. The Naval Air Systems Command is contemplating a sole source contract to Orbital Sciences Corporation for the refurbishment and conversion of MQM-8X (Fleet VANDALS) and MQM-8G (Std VANDALS) into MQM-8G EER Aerial Targets and adapting both EER VANDAL and INS/GPS VANDAL target configurations to the Aerial Target Launch Ship (ATLS). Orbital Sciences Corp, 3380 South Price Road, Chandler, AZ 85248 has been granted exclusive rights to the intellectual property, production tooling, and technical data necessary to support the Vandal production program. As a result, there is only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements other than Orbital Sciences. The contemplated contract would allow for the production of no more than 40 VANDAL Aerial Targets over a three year period.
